College. Capeesh?!!

My oh my how long it has been!  I can't remember when my last post was (i know there was a pretzel picture, though).  Heck, it may have just been last week but I cannot remember.  I REFUSE to remember.  Last week was my last week of finals..EVER.  It brings me great pain to remember finals week and the many sleepless nights (and days) that I spent confined to the library.
The library during the day. [Gatech admissions website]

The library at night. [http://love4teacups.tumblr.com/]

I should tell you, before I begin my bouts on my random occurrences, misfortunes, and bouts of pure luck, that I was at the library SO often that I am now officially friends with 3 different shifts of security guards and 2 of the people working at Jazzmans, the library's finest coffee shop (although they're always out of ice...).  On of the workers names Greg, who also works at Einsteins Brothers bagels in the BME quad  knows me as Sarah, but calls me Burbank because of the internship with Sports Science (ESPN baby) I'll be taking in the fall.  Although he is very nice, I took him to be the reg. old man UNTIL one day he brought into work with all these maps and stuff of Burbank, studio city, and the Hollywood area.  He said he'd rather not get into the details, but that he lived there for awhile when he was my age (20-somethings).  Pretty neat, huh?

I feel ashamed to say this, but I honestly thought he was some poor fellow who worked your typical job to pay the bills.  Turns out he owns a ranch and does this because he enjoys the students and the "knowledgeable" atmosphere. I always try to live by the motto--

Don't judge a book by it's cover
-- and this just confirms that fact.

ANYWAYYY--- I need to seriously recount all luck I've had within these past few days.  My mom regards me as one of the luckiest people she knows.  No, she did not say I was special, so I'll take it as it she means it. Lucky.

1. Tuesday 5/4/2011 at precisely 1:21pm, not one but TWO lady bugs landed on my shoulder.  Yup.
2. Thursday 5/5/2011, the top guy from ait (the adidas innovation team) called me to have a chat..not b/c he was a recruiter..but because he had just seen my name circulating through emails.  Fingers crossed that I get offered both the PhDship and/or the postgraduate program!  This call was completely random and I think I handled it well b/c I didn;t have time to stress about going to an interview.
3.Thursday 5/5/2011, I went out and the bartender closed my tab with a 0.00 balance. confused? me, too!  Did I question it?  no wayy, jose!
4.Friday 5/6/2011-- I woke up at 8:15 to catch a 10:15 flight..on standby.  My room was a mess, I hadn't signed up for a check-out time, slightly hungover, and slept through my alarm by nearly 2 hours.

My fate?  I arrived to the MARTA station just as the train was pulling in. No line at Airtran (rare for a Friday morning on mother's day weekend?). Shuttle to the gate as if it were just idling till I arrive.  I got to the gate just as they were about to shut the door, and oh so unfortunate was it is that there was only 1 seat left on the plane.  Thank goodness I was flying standby.  Oh, and BTW. That seat was a first -class seat. :D  Cheers!

Paradise is my favorite place on Earth.
If I could only apply sunscreen evenly, I could enjoy this sunshine more.

I arrived in FL to a heavy heavy thunderstorm, which only made it impossible to do nothing but sleep away the afternoon, evening, and into the next morning.  I awoke to gorgeous sunshine and the lapping of the waves against the dock.  How perfect.
These songs sum up all I feel about this little piece of perfect paradise.

It's 2:11am

So it's 2:11am and I am up wide awake, YET AGAIN.  I'm watching some lame-o on CNN rag on the President and the U.S. military tactics (I don't approve of this), but I'm too lazy to get up an change the channel.

What a predicament.

PS. Someone I know who knows someone who knows someone told me of a person who may have helped kill Osama Bin Laden. It's like the 6' of separation thing, absolutely insane.

On another note, today was my LAST FINAL EXAM OF MY ENTIRE LIFE.

In celebration, I sing this song

ANNNDD in a celebration of my success, my $0.65 to the vending machine gave me not 1, but 2 bags of pretzels.  Who knew that vending
machines have 2 for 1 sales, as well?!!

So my pretzels didn't quite look like this.  But I wish.

mtvU and finals.

Su-Chen Pak of mtvU !
So, as you know, I was selected to participate in a focus group with mtvU yesterday.  It was quite awesome, especially after having taken video production class this semester.  I got to meet Su Chin Pak (pictured below) and got $50 for only 3 hours of nonsense work!  There were ~20 girls there from GT and Spellman and we watched a short video on sex/labor trafficking in the United States and had about a two hour discussion, moderated by Su-Chen.  Every time we spoke we had to pass around the mike and speak into it.  It was so so fun.  Although this opportunity did lead me to miss my final capstone presentation for my management and technology minor (non-trivial..we've alreay given 3 presentations for it), it was deffffinitely worth it.

Today I used my experience and added it to my "communications" section of my resume, since ultimately I want to be some famous travel host/TV star/ running shoe designer.  And it was great real world expereince before I start my internship with sports science in the fall.

Today in my world of randomness, nothing too out of the ordinary occurred.  I woke up at 1pm..rewatched the royal wedding, and then attempted to study for my LAST FINAL that I have on Monday.

Course title: Physiological Control Systems.
Description: Mix of electrcial Engineering, computer science, and biology.
My fate?  Sealed.  uh-oh!
